Yes. what issue do you have with it? I have also done all the coaching and resources for it that it compares to ANY expensive short sale automation / marketing program.

Hi Christina
Its sounds like your husband and I have very similar backgrounds. I was trained by NCR in DSS systems over 10 years ago, then into Call Center, CTI, and CRM. Worked my way thru the ranks to CEO of a very big company..

I agree. The price they are selling at is RIDICULOUS for what you get! I have the same components of Open Road on a monthly subscription (NO UPFRONT) at 49 a month. www.ShortSaleAutomation.com

I hate to see people ripped off, because I was ripped off when I began by people like these. The pitch of "done for you" sickens me as its very misleading and they are only out to steal our money by preying on peoples dreams of wealth.

Thank you for your comments

Duncan, I love this article. In the days before I was a stay-at-home mom, I was a project manager in charge of TCI's data warehouse and decision support system. We processed half a billion records every night & created the web reporting system for internal users to access the information. To add to that, my husband has been in CRM software sales for a very, very long time.

I checked out FreedomSoft (not a fit for my business - lacking the capabilities that I need) & I use Open Road because it is mostly well configured for my short sales business. I do not, however, believe that it runs my business for me. I still have to do a considerable amount of work. My favorite feature is the short sales package creator -- it puts the name and account number on every page of the package for every document that I add to it -- huge time saver! And I like that it has places built in for all the data I need to save -- and that I can "see" other Open Road users buyers and send them a note within the system when I have a property that might suit their needs. A couple of my friends who are not gurus recommended it because they use it in their short sales businesses.

It seems to me though, that so many of the gurus look at real estate investors, or wanna-be investors and see a bright neon sign above their heads.... a sign that reads, "SUCKER." And I'm tired of it.

I mean how can they justify charging $997 or $1497 for a binder of photocopied pages and 6 or 12 CDs? You can go to the library and get the book for free -- or generally find books with the same information at the bookstore for $20 or less. Instead, these guys use every principle in "Influence" by Cialdini to separate the hopeful from their $$. And yes, I've bought a lot of these programs. Some are great -- some not so much. I will confess that I don't always buy from the guru; sometimes I look on ebay.

The people who I find especially egregious are those who want to know how much you have open on your credit cards because they want you to buy a very expensive coaching program. I always ask the salespeople why they aren't doing whatever it is they are trying to sell. They never have a good answer.
