Just how much SEO is necessary for the real estate investor to succeed?
When it comes to real estate investing, there is no doubt that you are going to have yours ups and downs. However, you have to make sure that you are always marketing to get more leads to stay ahead of your competition. The more marketing you do, the more exposure you get, which means you get more leads, which in turn allows you to make more offers. The more offers you make, the more money you will make!. Marketing is the key to your real estate investing success. Other investors will wonder how you do so well while they struggle. You must stay on top of the game of marketing to win!
One of the marketing buzz phrases for getting free website traffic is Search Engine Optimization, “SEO”. As more real estate investors become aware of the marketing needed to get more leads, they start hearing all sorts of marketing hype for getting your site to the top of the page on Google. These companies promise the moon but cannot deliver, or they can only deliver results based on a keyword phrase that no one is searching for. I probably get about 4 – 7 emails a day about how to get on the first page of Google. In realty is that there are many theories on how to do this, and it’s anyone’s best guess. Only Google knows their mathematical formula (algorithm) for ranking websites they display.
One of the most overpriced, over hyped theories is from one company promotes to is to “bomb” Google with 97 different types websites with your keywords on them, and then link them all back to your website. This is supposedly to trick Google to put you at the top of the search engines. Of course the magic price to do this magic is only $997 upfront, and $97 a month, plus the cost of providing your own content, auto responder, and videos. NOTE: This is not to say that you should not have a “back linking ” strategy.. but their method is a big red flag to Google as all these sites they have you create still sit on the same computer IP address. All you need to know about this is… don’t do it !
Luckily for you, there are some very simple things you can do that wont cost you a penny at all. The first step is to ensure that your main website is optimized for the keywords most commonly searched for in your geographical area about your business, or service. With these keywords, you want to put them into the “Meta Data” fields. Meta data in m such as a good title description, an of title, keyword, description of all your webpages. These keywords also need to be sprinkled within the content of your webpages in a ratio of 2%-3%
The next actions is to make sure you create a series of profiles or pages on the major social media sites. The most trafficked websites are best to start with. These sites are: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Ebay. Then you will want to then create a Google Profile, to link all your websites, and social media accounts together and add yourself into Google.com/Places.
Don’t make the mistake of focusing all of your efforts on one social networking site. While that is all fine and good when you are simply using these sites for your personal friendships, it is not okay when you are trying to gain more business for yourself.

In order to make sure that you are truly starting to generate enough leads are going to want to build your reputation or what I call “thought leadership”. One of the ways to do this is to start writing articles to publish on the web. There are two ways to do this. You can write the articles on your own or you can hire a professional writer to do it for you. Either way, you are going to want to make sure that the articles show you as the solution provider, or thought leader. Again, just like your website, these articles should be optimized for keywords that are related to your business.
Once Google finds your optimized website, your suite of linked social media pages, your blog, your YouTube channel and articles that you have posted, you are going to start to find that you will get high and higher in the search engine results. As you start to get more exposure, people will have more interest in your business services. While this might not mean that you are going to get a ton of leads right away, but this is the beginning of the road that will lead you to having traffic the income and name recognition that you deserve.
The next time that you hear someone tell you have you have to have a hundred websites in order to dominate the Internet so that you will be noticed, you will know better. You no longer have to worry about falling into the trap of having to spend too much money on a bunch of websites that simply will not give you the benefits that you have come to expect.
